Hmm I would have to say stephen king although I do like a few other writers. I would say I'm attracted to the dark type of story books or mysteries.

The A song of fire and ice series is easily the best set of books I've read since The Lord of the rings. Always enjoyed the dragonlance and forgotten realms series aswell, also have a lot of love for the Hobbit such a simple but enjoyable story.
